Kerns Named Student-Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Senior Nathan Kerns placed third at the Conference USA Championships, the best ever by a Marshall golfer, and has been named Marshall's Student Athlete of the Week.

Kerns, from Ironton, Ohio, shot a final round best 68 (-4) to help the Herd finish in fifth place with a score of 878 (+14). The fifth place finish was Marshall's best finish since joining C-USA.

Kerns will go down as one of the all-time great golfers in school history. His stroke average this season of 71.7 is a new Marshall record. Kerns 74.14 career stroke average ranks second.
