HAVE YOU HERD?
In the Greater Louisville Classic on Oct. 4, the Thundering Herd saw some of its individuals stand out. Senior Caleb Bowen (Hurricane, W.Va.) was the top men's finisher for the Thundering Herd as he clocked a time of 25:42.70, which placed 49th overall. Bowen's 8k mark gave him a new personal best by 20 seconds.
With the women having competed in split-squad fashion, freshman Victoria Dent (Scott Depot, W.Va.) paced Marshall with a time of 19:20.80, good enough for 107th as an individual in the blue 5k. Freshman Rachel Morris (Parkersburg, W.Va.) recorded the top time for the Herd in the women's silver 5k as she placed 47th in a time of 19:52.12.
SCOUTING THE MEET
With the men's 8k set for a 10 a.m. start time, the women's 5k race will begin at 10:45 a.m. The men's and women's races will feature Radford, Marshall, Mercer, Chowan, Fayetteville State, Longwood and Richmond.
The invitational is presented by the Collegiate Running Association. The schools fielding teams for the men's race are required to have cross country only with no men's track and field team.
