Tennis Travels To State College, Pa.

HUNTINGTON, W.VA- Marshall Tennis (3-2) will be heading north this weekend facing No. 57 Penn State (3-3) Friday at 6p.m., and Penn (2-2) Saturday at 2 p.m. Both matches will be held in State College, Pa.

HAVE YOU HERD?

The Herd suffered their second loss of the season to No. 40 Kentucky (now ranked No. 38) in Lexington, Ky. this past weekend.

Senior Karli Timko (Houston, Pa.) was the lone victor of the day. Timko currently boasts a 4-1 singles record.

Timko and freshman Rachael Morales (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) teamed up to defeat the Wildcats' Caitlin McGraw/ Kirsten Lewis 6-2, but did not earn the doubles point because of Herd losses at first and second doubles.

SCOUTING THE NITTANY LIONS

Penn state is coming off a weekend of defeat, losing to No. 52 William & Mary and No. 44 Virginia Commonwealth.

Freshman Dasha Sapogova (Minsk, Belarus) is currently on a three match win streak and supports a 6-1 singles record.

Penn State will face Penn this Sunday at 11 A.M ET. They remain at home for the following week to take on Ohio State February 25th 4 p.m.

SCOUTING THE QUAKERS

Penn is bouncing off a two-win weekend, earning its first victory of the season defeating Akron on Friday before notching its second win against Rutgers on Sunday. Both victories were by 6-1 margins.

Junior Soi Eskenazi is currently ranked No. 7 in the ITA Northeast region. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native is undefeated in singles action and was a First-Team All-Ivy League selection last season.

The Quakers will not return to action until March 10 when they face Fairleigh Dickinson in Palm Springs, Calif.

UP NEXT

Marshall will head to Minneapolis, Minn. to take on Iowa State February 22 at 1 p.m. and will face Minnesota February 23 at 11 a.m.
