HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall softball (9-20) will return to Dot Hicks Field for a mid-week matchup against Miami of Ohio (11-14).

HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall earned a series victory against Conference USA foe East Carolina last weekend. The Herd swept the doubleheader with 9-1(6) and 7-1 wins before dropping the final game of the series 9-1(6).
Sophomores Kaelynn Greene (Eastvale, Calif.) and Shaelynn Baxton (Woodbridge, Va.) lead the Herd offensively with .406 and .356 batting averages, respectively. The duo also holds the top two hit totals for Marshall, and Braxton leads the team with nine home runs and 26 RBI.
Freshman Morgan Zerkle (Milton, W.Va.) is also batting above .300 for the Herd with a .303 average on 27 hits. She ranks third behind Greene and Braxton in both categories. The freshman recorded four steals in the Herd's victory over UNC-Wilmington earlier last week totaling to 23 on the season - ranking No. 9 in the nation.
The Herd hit five home runs in two days during action over Spring Break. Braxton delivered three long balls, while senior Savanah Webster (Las Vegas, Nev.) and sophomore Raquel Escareno (Wellington, Colo.) each added one.
SERIES HISTORY
Marshall leads the all-time series history against the RedHawks with a 19-13 record. The teams split a two-game series last season, with Miami earning an 8-2 victory before the Herd picked up an 11-6 win.
SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS (11-14, 0-0 MAC)
Miami is coming off of a split day in the RMU Colonial Classic, where the team dropped the opener to Siena, 4-3, before defeating Robert Morris, 2-1.
The RedHawks has three hitters posting batting averages above the .300 mark - seniors Kayla Ledbetter (.310), Kristy Arbour (.308) and Allie Larrabee (.303). Junior Bree Lispcomb also adds power for Miami, leading the team with seven home runs, 25 RBI and eight doubles.
Sophomore Amber Logemann and senior Paige Myers handle the bulk of the pitching responsibilities for the RedHawks. Each have made 14 appearances, with Logemann posting a 4-7 record and Myers a 5-4 total. Logemann currently holds a 2.91 ERA with 51 strikeouts. Myers has recorded 44 strikeouts en route to a 3.30 ERA. Logemann was named MAC East Co-Pitcher of the Week for this past week for the first weekly honor of her career.

Marshall will hit the road for a weekend series in Starkville, Miss. against Mississippi State before returning to Huntington to face Radford in a doubleheader next Wednesday.
