HAVE YOU HERD?
Most recently, the Thundering Herd traveled into the state of Virginia for a two-contest weekend, starting with a dual match at Conference USA newcomer Old Dominion on Friday. After initially leading the contest 3-0, the Herd withstood a rally from the Monarchs that brought the score even at three, to come with a 4-3 win after freshman Rachael Morales (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) won in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 6-1.
The contest vs. ODU serves as the only C-USA match of the season for the Herd until the conference tournament, with the win having snapped a two-match Marshall losing streak.
The second dual match of the week which was scheduled for Sunday morning at VCU was postponed due to weather as was rescheduled for Apr. 15, now making it the 2014 spring regular season finale.
AMONG THE RANKS
After having appeared in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings for five-straight weeks from Feb. 18 through Mar. 18, the Herd dropped outside of the rankings in the Mar. 25 team rankings. Its win over ODU last weekend helped Marshall back into the rankings, checking in at No. 71 in the most recent April 1 rankings.
COMING HOME
6-4 in road contests this season, the Herd is 5-1 at home in spring dual matches, which is good for a winning percentage of 83.3.

The Eagles have lived this season on the road for a majority of the spring having played 11 of its 15 contests on a road, with a 9-2 record away from home. Winthrop is an even 2-2 at home this spring.
Winthrop reached their peak this season early on with an eight match win streak, along with having won 10 of its first 12 dual matches of the spring. The April 1 ITA rankings saw the Eagles check in at No. 62.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
Down the final stretch of what has been a busy spring, Cincinnati's trip to Huntington will start a three-match road span that closes out the regular season. In nine road contests, the Bearcats are 3-6 this season. Despite having an overall record below .500, Cincinnati has won four of its last five dual matches entering its matchup with Marshall and are fresh off a 5-2 dual match win over Northern Kentucky on Tuesday, April 1.
Holding their ground in the top spots, the Bearcats have winning marks this season in the No. 1, 2 and 3 singles positions, along with in the No. 1 and 2 doubles spots.
