@HerdVolleyball Starts 2014 with Intrasquad Scrimmage

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.-- Marshall volleyball will begin its 2014 season with an intrasquad scrimmage Sunday, August 17. Admission is free.

"This will be the first opportunity for fans to see the 2014 team," coach Mitch Jacobs said of the event.

The scrimmage will be held in the Cam Henderson Center at 5 p.m. The match will consist of the team playing four sets to 25.

The Herd returns nine players and welcomes six newcomers to the 2014 roster. The squad will be led by Conference USA Preseason selection senior setter Sammie Bane.

Marshall will begin its official 2014 season when the team hosts the Thunder Invitational beginning August 29, facing teams from Eastern Michigan, UIC, and Virginia.
