BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -
The Marshall men's golf team ended the two round Mountaineer Intercollegiate 13th overall. Junior Clark Roinson (South Windsor, Conn.) finished third overall.

For Robinson it was his fifth top 5 finish of his collegiate career. Head Coach Matt Grobe was very pleased with the performance of his junior. "Clark played great," Coach Grobe said. "It was a lot of fun watching him come down the stretch with a chance to win. Even though he fell a little short, he played great golf this week."

The rest of the Herd struggled as sophomore Alex Weiss (Pickerington, Ohio) was the only other player to finish in the top 40. Weiss finished tied for 37th.

"As a team we have a lot of work to do," Coach Grobe stated after the tournament. "The good news is we have a ton of potential. The bad news is we are not performing.

"Hopefully in the next week we can get some good work in and head down to Western Carolina and win a golf tournament."

The Herd has a week and a half until its final tournament of the fall season. The Hummingbird Intercollegiate, hosted by Western Carolina, is scheduled for Nov. 1-2 in Sapphire, N.C.
