HAVE YOU HERD?
The Herd improved to 12-3-3, 5-2-2, with a 2-0 defeat of WKU (Oct. 23), tying program records for season wins and league wins. Both goals were scored in the final 10 minutes of play, within four minutes of each other. Freshman forward Ashley Seltzer (Knoxville, Tenn.) broke the ice in the 81st minute with her third goal of the season, unassisted, collecting a rebound off a shot by Mack Moore (West Chester, Pa.) and finishing from 10 yards away. Just three minutes and 18 seconds later, junior forward Sydney Arnold (Stafford, Va.) doubled the Herd's lead with her team-leading seventh score of the year, assisted by Seltzer. Seltzer's three points are her career high for a single match.
SUPER SENIORS
Marshall will honor seven seniors with pre- and post-match ceremonies on Friday: midfielder Kelly Culicerto (Charlotte, N.C.), defender Jenna Dubs (Green Lane, Pa.), midfielder Brittany Entz (Glen Allen, Va.), defender Taylor Fleming (Southbury, Conn.), defender Lia Foster (Keswick, Ontario), goalkeeper Lizzie Kish (Boyertown, Pa.) and midfielder Erin Simmons (Gahanna, Ohio). The class of 2015 is the winningest in program history with 36 victories. The group has seen numerous milestones during its tenure, including the program's first postseason win in 2013 and a 12-match unbeaten streak earlier this season.
TOURNEY TIME
With Sunday's league results, Marshall clinched a spot in the 2015 Conference USA Tournament for the third consecutive season, the longest streak in program history. The Herd will await seeding as the final weekend of regulation ends on Sunday. Here's a look at the history of Marshall in the C-USA Tournament:
2010 (No. 6 seed) - First Round: Houston (L, 3-0)
2013 (No. 5 seed) - First Round: Rice (W, 3-1); Quarterfinal: Charlotte (L, 3-1)
2014 (No. 8 seed) - First Round: North Texas (L, 2-0)
REPEAT DEFENDER
Senior Jenna Dubs (Green Lane, Pa.) earned her fourth Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week honor, the league announced Monday. She is the only player this season to earn the C-USA honor more than twice. At WKU on Sunday, Dubs tied Marshall record with her 76th consecutive start, tallying every match of her career. She played all 90 minutes in the backfield against the Lady Toppers, fending off 15 shots with three on target in the shutout. The Herd defense has not allowed a goal in 180 minutes, notching back-to-back blank sheets.

SCOUTING THE LADY MONARCHS
Last time out, the Lady Monarchs were shut out 3-0 at UTEP (Oct. 25). Fifth-ranked ODU is looking to clinch a spot in the C-USA Tournament with two matches remaining in its schedule: one at Marshall on Friday and one at home on Sunday against Middle Tennessee. Iris Achterhof leads the Lady Monarchs with 16 points on six goals and four assists.
The Herd is unbeaten against the Lady Monarchs at 1-0-1 all-time. Last season, the teams tied in Norfolk, 1-1 (Oct. 5, 2014). In 2013, Marshall earned a 1-0 shutout at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex.
