This week, she shared the title with Megan Morris of WKU.
The award marks the sixth consecutive week with at least one C-USA accolade for Marshall. Other weekly honor recipients this season include goalkeeper Lizzie Kish (Boyertown, Pa.) on Sept. 28, forward Sydney Arnold (Stafford, Va.) on Aug. 31 and Sept. 21, and M/F Erin Simmons (Gahanna, Ohio) on Sept. 8. The seven awards are the most in a Herd season.

SCOUTING THE BLAZERS
UAB (1-9-0, 0-3-0) is in the midst of a nine-game slump, having dropped every match since its season opener. Last time out, the Blazers came up short against Louisiana Tech, 2-1. Kasey Johnson scored her team-leading third goal of the year in the lost result.
The Blazers lead the all-time series with the Herd, 7-3-1. Last season, Marshall took a 2-1 decision from UAB in Huntington (Oct. 14, 2014). When playing in Birmingham, the Herd is 1-3-0.
SCOUTING THE BLUE RAIDERS
Middle Tennessee (7-3-1, 3-0-0) is the only C-USA team without a loss or tie in league play, leading the conference with nine points. Emily Jorgenson is the Blue Raiders' top scoring weapon with three goals on the year. Defending C-USA Goalkeeper of the Week Kelsey Brouwer notched her sixth shutout of the season last week against Charlotte. Middle Tennessee will host WKU on Friday before the Herd arrives on Sunday.
Sunday will be the Herd's first trip to Murfreesboro. The series is tied between the teams, 1-1-0, with both matches played in Huntington. Last season, the visiting Blue Raiders came away with a 1-0 shutout of the Herd (Oct. 19, 2014).
UP NEXT
The Herd will return home to host the Florida C-USA schools, with Florida Atlantic at 7 p.m. on Oct. 16, and FIU at 1 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex. For all the latest information about Marshall women's soccer, follow @HerdWSoccer on Twitter.
