Herd Softball Beats Dartmouth 1-0

TAMPA, Fla. - The Marshall Thundering Herd softball team closed out the USF Wilson DeMarini Tournament with a 1-0 win against Dartmouth. The win improves Marshall to 11-3 this season. Marshall went 3-2 in the USF tournament, including two wins against Dartmouth, a win against hosts USF and a 5-4 loss to No. 16 Auburn.
AGAINST DARTMOUTH
The first two and a half innings finished scoreless, but the Herd was able to bring a run home in the third. Freshman Elicia D'Orazio hit a single over the first baseman and down the right field line. D'Orazio then stole second and third, before being brought home on a single by junior Kaelynn Greene.
The Herd then went on to blank the Big Green in what became a defensive showdown, allowing only five hits. Marshall sophomore Jordan Dixon moved to 10 wins (10-3 this season).
