Women's Golf to Begin Spring Season on Sunday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall women's golf will tee-off its spring 2015 campaign on Sunday by participating in the nation's largest collegiate golf tournament: the Edwin Watts / Kiawah Island Spring Classic at Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Kiawah Island, S.C.
The 54-hole tournament will be played March 1-3, with an 18-hole round on each day. After 36 holes of play, the top 20 teams will play for the championship at Osprey Point during the final round, while teams 21-40 will play for a flight championship at Oak Point.
Live scoring will be available through GolfStat.com and final results will be posted to HerdZone.com.
HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall added two to its roster in the offseason: Pimrawee Huang (Nakornpatom, Thailand) and Sarfina Seretharan (Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Malaysia). Huang, a sophomore transfer, played the 2013-14 season at Iowa State. Seretharan was a member of the Malaysian National Team from 2010-12 and enrolled at Marshall as a freshman for the spring 2015 semester.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
Tabbed as the largest collegiate golf tournament in the country, the 2015 edition of the Edwin Watts / Kiawah Island Spring Classic has expanded to 40 teams in this year's field and will be played for the first time in its history at Osprey Point at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort on Kiawah Island, S.C. Two courses are used for the three-day, 54-hole tournament including Oak Point. Last year, Kent State won the team title carding a three-round score of 28-over par 892 28 amongst the 36-team tournament field. Kent State's Wad Phaewchimplee and Boston College's Katia Joo shared individual medalist honors shooting 4-over 220. Host College of Charleston is the highest-seeded team currently ranked No. 68 in the latest Golfstat.com rankings, while Charleston Southern is the defending flight champion.
