Herd Splits Leaderboard on Day 1 at Pinehurst

Day 1 Results
PINEHURST, N.C. - Junior Logan Lagodich (Canton, Ohio) and sophomore Clark Robinson (South Windsor, Conn.) are tied for 16th in a field of 65 players to lead Marshall men's golf after 18 holes at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate at Pinehurst No. 8 on Friday.
The teammates each shot 7-over-par 78 for a three-way tie with Logan Matthews of Belmont at 16th. Another pair of Herd golfers - Alex Weiss (Pickerington, Ohio) and Will Evans (Charleston, W.Va.) - are tied for 24th with five others at 9-over 80.
As a unit, Marshall carded 32-over 316 for sixth place in the first round. The Herd will continue with the second round on Saturday, and will complete the tournament in the final 18-hole round on Sunday.
ON THE LEADERBOARD
Belmont leads the 11-team field at 13-over 297, eight strokes ahead of Abilene Christian (21-over 305). Ashton Van Horne of Belmont is the individual leader at 2-under 69, four strokes ahead of Alex Hicks of William & Mary.
