HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall softball (33-12, 12-7 Conference USA) will host the Liberty University Flames (27-28, 12-12 Big South) within the confines of Dot Hicks Field tomorrow at 4:00 PM. The game will be Marshall's Breast Cancer Awareness day.
 HAVE YOU HERD?
After winning the series against UTEP with a 7-4 win on Sunday, Marshall qualified for the Conference USA Tournament in Miami next week. The Herd has advanced to the last three Conference USA championship games, winning in 2013.
Marshall is 16-4 in its last 20 games, outscoring opponents 112 - 61 in those outings. Â
In the last three series (Florida Atlantic, Northern Kentucky, and UTEP), Marshall has an impressive team batting average that's over .380.
Marshall sophomore pitcher Jordan Dixon (31-12) captured her 30th win against the Miners this past weekend, and needs only three more victories to pass Andi Williamson's record of 33 (33-18) set in 2013. Dixon also has a strong earned run average at 2.44.
Three of Marshall's players still have a season batting average over .400:  single-season hit record holding sophomore Morgan Zerkle (.522), junior Kaelynn Greene (.436) and senior Emileigh Cooper (.458).
 SCOUTING THE FLAMES
Liberty is 27-28 this season and 12-12 in the Big South Conference.
The Flames have a team batting average of .271, while their opponents bat .263 against them. The team has also hit 29 home runs with 191 rbi's in the 55 games they've played thus far.
Freshman utility player Alexia Taylor and senior catcher Kelby Allen are the lone Flames members who've started in all 55 games this season. Both players average .330 and .316, respectively, while collectively batting in 53 runs.
