Herd Rallies on Final Day of C-USA Championship

TEXARKANA, Ark. -- Led by freshman Alex Weiss (Pickerington, Ohio), the Marshall men's golf team concluded play at the Conference USA Championship at Texarkana Golf Club on Tuesday.
Weiss finished in the top 10, tied for eighth with four other golfers, at 2-over-par 218. Teammate Logan Lagodich (Canton, Ohio) posted a 1-under 71 on the final day, shaving 10 strokes off his second round score to finish 35th at 9-over 225.
Marshall carded a 294 on the final day of stroke play, moving up three spots to finish 10th at 895.
ON THE LEADERBOARD
Led by Juan Munoz's 5-under 211, North Texas finished stroke play in first place at 3-under 861. UAB, UTEP and Charlotte will join the Mean Green in match play for the championship starting Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. ET.

"I was really pleased with our play today. Alex [Weiss] played three great rounds this week. Logan [Lagodich], Davey [Jude] and Clark [Robinson] put together good rounds today and it helped us move up on the leaderboard. I was glad we were able to finish the season on a high note. We are a young team and I think we grew a lot this year, and that will pay a lot in the future. I'm really looking forward to seeing these guys play this summer and I am already looking forward to our first event in the fall."
