HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall volleyball set for a weekend road trip with a doubleheader on Friday, Sept. 18 against ETSU at 12:30 p.m. and Samford at 4:30 p.m. at the Comfort Inn-Vitational at Morehead State.

The invitational will take place over Friday and Saturday, but the Herd will only be competing on the first day of the event.

HAVE YOU HERD?
Junior Allie Kellerman (Louisville, Ky.) was the star for the Herd this past week. Kellerman claimed the Panthers Invitational MVP on Sept. 12, and then earned a Conference USA Player of the Week award on Sept. 14. Through the first 10 games of the year, the libero ranked 11th and 25th in total digs (218) and digs per set (5.19), respectively.

The attacking duo of Cassie Weaver (Huntington, W.Va.) and Taylor Pelton (Louisville, Ky.) have help lead the Herd so far this season, as both have 155 kills. Weaver averages a higher kill per set with 3.44 to 3.30, but Pelton holds a better hit percentage with .225 to .197.

Ally Kiekover (Grand Rapids, Mich.) has been very economical in her attacks this season. The middle blocker has recorded 115 kills on 237 attacks with 25 errors for a team high .380 hit percentage. On the defensive side of the ball, Kiekover leads the Herd with 32 total blocks.

SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
ETSU enters this weekend's invitational with a 5-4 record with victories over LIU-Brooklyn, Alabama St., CSU Bakersfield, USC Upstate and Presbyterian. The Buccaneers have won their last two matches.

The Bucs are led by Rylee Milhorn, who has played in all nine matches and has recorded 102 kills, 84 digs and 12 total blocks. Milhorn averages a team high 3.40 kills per set. Hailey Aguilar holds the edge in digs with 131.

The Herd and ETSU will meet for the 43rd time in the two team's history. The Buccaneers hold the advantage with a 28-14 record.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Samford comes into the tournament with a 3-4 record and went 1-2 at the South Alabama Tournament where they defeated McNeese State. The Bulldogs other two wins came against Stephen F. Austin and Tennessee State.

Krista Boesing leads the attack for Samford with 83 kills, while Morgan St. Germain has 122 digs.

Marshall and Samford have only met once prior to Friday. The Bulldogs took the match, 3-0 at the Louisville tournament in 2012.

LOOKING FORWARD
Next week, Marshall will be back home for the first time in three weeks, as it welcomes Conference USA foe Western Kentucky on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The Herd will then host Charlotte and LA Tech on Friday and Sunday.
