HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -

HAVE YOU HERD?

Marshall senior goalkeeper Lizzie Kish (Boyertown, Pa.) recorded the 15th shutout of her career in a scoreless draw with Appalachian State on Sept. 13 at Appalachian Soccer Stadium. With the nil-nil tie, the Herd moved to 6-1-1, and its unbeaten streak of seven matches tied a program record set in 2009. It was Marshall's first overtime game this season. The Herd has not lost in extra minutes since Oct. 25, 2012.

ON THE VERGE

With a scoreless draw at Appalachian State on Sept. 13, the Herd posted its seventh straight match without a loss, tying a program record set in 2009. A win or draw against James Madison on Sunday would break the all-time streak record.

OVERTIME? NO PROBLEM

The Herd is unbeaten (3-0-8) in extra time since the start of the 2013 season. Marshall's last overtime loss was Oct. 25, 2012, when it dropped a 1-0 decision in the 94th minute to ECU in the season finale.

THRICE AS NICE

Marshall made it three in a row when senior defender Jenna Dubs (Green Lane, Pa.) was named Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Dubs' accolade marked a third consecutive C-USA weekly honor for the Herd, after Sydney Arnold (Stafford, Va.) and Erin Simmons (Gahanna, Ohio) earned offensive titles on Aug. 31 and Sept. 8, respectively. Dubs is the first Herd player on the defensive side since Lizzie Kish (Boyertown, Pa.) in 2013. The award is the first of her career, and three titles are the most for Marshall in one season.

Dubs played all 200 minutes in the Marshall backfield last weekend, extending her streak of consecutive starts to 66 - every match of her career. As the Herd's primary corner kick specialist, she recorded her eighth career assist on Sept. 11 in Marshall's 2-1 win over ETSU, tying for sixth place in the Herd record book. On Sept. 13, Marshall held off Appalachian State in a scoreless draw, picking up its third shutout of the season.

SCOUTING THE DUKES

James Madison (6-3-0) has won five of its last six matches. Last time out, a goal in the 88th minute by Ashley Herndon lifted the Dukes over Richmond, 1-0 (Sept. 18). Herndon leads the team with 16 points on six goals and four assists.

The Dukes hold a 2-0-0 lead in the series with Marshall, winning both contests by a 2-1 margin. The teams last met on Aug. 30, 2013, at Veterans Memorial Soccer Complex in Huntington.

UP NEXT

Marshall will begin Conference USA play at home against the league's reigning regular season champion (RV) North Texas (Sept. 25) and tournament champion Rice (Sept. 27). For all the latest information about Marshall women's soccer, follow @HerdWSoccer on Twitter.
