@HerdVolleyball to Face 49ers, Lady Techsters This Weekend

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall volleyball will be looking to bounce back from Wednesday's setback as it welcomes Conference USA foes Charlotte and Louisiana Tech to the Cam Henderson Center. The Herd will face the 49ers on Friday at 6 p.m. and the Lady Techsters on Sunday at 1 p.m.

HAVE YOU HERD?
Leading the conference in digs is junior Allie Kellerman (Louisville, Ky.). The libero has recorded 267 digs in 57 sets, good for 4.68 per set. On the year, Kellerman has been stellar as she has been named to three different all-tournament teams and also was named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 14).
Junior Ally Kiekover (Grand Rapids, Mich.) has been accurate all season on her attacks, which shows in the conference statistics. Kiekover sits at fourth with a .388 hit percentage. The middle blocker has played in 57 sets with 145 kills and 33 errors on 289 attacks.
SCOUTING THE 'NINERS
The 49ers enter Friday's match with a 4-7 record, including victories over Davidson, UNC-Asheville, Liberty and UTEP. All but their match against the Miners were won in three sets.
This past Monday, Charlotte opened its conference schedule with a win over UTEP, 3-1. The victory for the 'Niners snapped a nine-game losing streak in conference openers. The 'Niners were powered by Abreia Epps, who had 21 kills and a .415 hit percentage.
Seniors Sarah McDonald and Britney Leigh Held lead Charlotte offensively in kills and assists. McDonald has 124 kills, while Held has 401 assists.
SCOUTING THE LADY TECHSTERS
Prior to Sunday's match against the Herd, Tech will meet WKU on Friday. The Lady Techsters are 4-3 in matches that go to three sets on the year, but just 2-5 in ones that go longer.
To open up conference play, Louisiana Tech lost to Southern Miss in four sets. In the match, the Lady Techsters were led offensively by Helena Gunnarsdottir and Alexa Lister with 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Lister recorded a team high .381 hit percentage.
Overall, Marta Monne leads LA Tech with 135 kills, good for 3.07 per set. Monne, also has 98 digs, 14 total blocks, 11 assists and five aces.
