Men's Golf Finishes Eighth at Firestone Invitational

AKRON, Ohio - The Marshall men's golf team finished the Firestone Invitational in eighth Tuesday afternoon at the Firestone Country Club.
Senior Clark Robinson finished tied for eighth on the leaderboard to lead the Herd. It was his third top 10 finish of the fall. Other highlights included freshman Cole Moore hitting an eagle, the first of his collegiate career, on a par-5 on the fifth hole. Moore improved by five strokes from round two to round three.
ON THE LEADERBOARD
Cincinnati shot a third round best combined score of 283 to move ahead of Illinois State and win the team competition. The Bearcats cleaned up with the individual winner as well as Austin Squires finished a combined 11-under par for the tournament and four strokes ahead of Bryce Howell of Furman.
COACH'S CORNER
"Really tough conditions and we didn't play as well today. Clark (Robinson) once again showed that he is one of the best collegiate golfers. His 72 today in winds and tough course setup was impressive. Hopefully this week will help show the guys that they can play good golf and compete at a high level."
