Strong Finish Propels Marshall into Third at Pinehurst Intercollegiate

PINEHURST, N.C. - Three Marshall golfers placed in the top 10 at the completion of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on Sunday at Pinehurst No. 8.
Junior Clark Robinson (South Windsor, Conn.) posted the Herd's best single round of the tournament with a 1-under-par 70 on the final 18 holes. He totaled 5-over 218 to finish sixth. Just behind him was classmate Davey Jude (Kermit, W.Va.) with a 6-over 219 in a tie for seventh, and sophomore Alex Weiss (Pickerington, Ohio) finished tied for ninth at 7-over 220.
As a team, Marshall finished just two strokes out of first place with a final total of 28-over 880. The Herd surged in the final round with a tournament-best 4-over 288. It was the lowest score of any team on Sunday.
ON THE LEADERBOARD
Xavier took the team championship at 26-over 878. Will Branham of Morehead State picked up the individual win with an even 213.
