@Herd_Tennis Set for Two Road Matches

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall tennis continues on its road trip by visiting Charleston, S.C., for two matches in two days against the College of Charleston on Thursday at 2 p.m. and Charlotte on Friday at 9:30 a.m.
The Herd enters the contests with a 6-8 record after being awarded a forfeit win against No. 37 William & Mary on Sunday. The Tribe came down with a team illness and was unable to compete. Marshall has won its last two matches, including a win over in-state rival West Virginia, 4-3.
Derya Turhan leads the Herd with a 9-2 singles record, with all wins coming from the top spot. Following Turhan is fellow classmate Rachael Morales. Morales holds an 8-3 record by earning seven wins from the No. 2 spot.
Prior to its meeting with Marshall, College of Charleston will host Illinois. The Cougars are 12-8 and coming off a 4-3 loss to Elon on Monday. CofC is led by Liza Fieldsend from the No. 1 spot with a 10-7 record, while Helena Nyikos and Marra Argyriou lead the team in wins with 14 each. Argyriou and Katherine Schofield are 15-1 in doubles action.
The Charlotte 49ers will see their first Conference USA action on Friday against the Herd. The Niners are 4-8, with wins over Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, College of Charleston and Creighton. Charlotte is led by Tyler Baker, Alexandra Lee and Victoria Pahlett, with five wins each.
