Junior pitcher Jordan Dixon (Edmond, Okla.) is tied with Sara Gulla (1998-01) for second all-time in program history in career strikeouts with 727. Dixon needs only five more to move ahead of Andi Williamson (2011-2013) for first all-time. The junior is Marshall's all-time wins leader with 69.

The second game featured 15 hits with seven combined from Morgan Zerkle (Milton, W.Va.), Greene and Elicia D'Orazio (Clermont, Fla.). Katalin Lucas (Agua Dulce, Calif.) crushed a three-run home run in the second inning. Pitcher Brittanie Fowler went the distance in the five-inning win to grab her second win of the season.
