HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall softball has announced it will be holding a camp in three different sessions Oct. 1. The camp will take place at Dot Hicks Field, Joan C. Edwards Stadium and the Chris Cline Indoor Facility.
The camp is open to any and all entrants in seventh to 12th grade. To register, complete the camp flier and return to Marshall softball with the full payment. Online registration is available, using the above link, for all participants for all sessions with the exception of sibling and employee price break registrants.
Session one will be position specific play. It will take place from 9:00-10:30 a.m. and is $35 per player. Position play will be offered for pitchers, catchers, infielders and outfielders. Pitchers are required to provide their own catcher that is not also participating in the catching clinic.
Session two will be scrimmage games and offensive training. This will take place from 10:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and the cost is $45 per player. The scrimmage session will be limited to 96 total athletes with a maximum of eight teams with 12 players consisting of three pitchers, two catchers and one athlete per infield and outfield position. 2017-19 grads will participate in scrimmages while the 2020-2022 classes will train in the offensive portion.
Session three will also be scrimmage games and offensive training. It will be from 1:45-4:30 p.m. and the cost will also be $45 per player. The 2020-2022 grads will participate in scrimmages while the 2017-19 grads will train in the offensive portion.
Sessions two and three will each include two 75 minute or six inning games. The offensive training portion will include hitting stations, base running groups and STACK measurements will be conducted from the Sports Medicine Program Coordinator Tom Belmaggio.
There is a $25 discount if a player registers for all three sessions. Siblings will receive a discount of $5 off total cost and a $10 discount is available for daughters of Marshall employees that register for at least two sessions.
