WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -The Marshall women's tennis team completed the second day of play at the Tribe Invite hosted by William and Mary Saturday.The Herd won four doubles matches and four singles matches.

Stephanie Smith and Derya Turhan each won two doubles matches. Marija Bogicevic, Maddie Silver, Nikola Novackova and Daniela Dankanych each won a doubles match. Turhan, Silver, Novackova and Dankanych each won singles matches for the Herd.

Marshall opened the day with a doubles match against in-state rival West Virginia. Smith and Turhan teamed up to defeat Jordan and Shaker, 8-5. Silver and Rachael Morales fell to Choo and Mrgole, 8-4. Novackova and Anna Pomyatinskaya lost to Martinez and Lewis, 8-2.

The Herd continued its day with another doubles match against Liberty. Smith and Novackova combined to defeat Anderson and Panchenko, 8-4. Turhan teamed up with Dankanych to win over Camacho and Hassey in a tiebreak, 8-7 (7). Bogicevic and Silver won against Brown and Groeneveld, 8-3. Morales and Pomyatinskaya lost to Crist and Dollar, 8-3.

After the two doubles matches, the Herd played a singles match against the host William and Mary Tribe. Turhan capped off her undefeated day with a win over Marie Faure, 6-2, 7-5. Silver won her match over Maria Groener in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Novackova dropped the first set of her match against Charlotte Madson before rallying to win in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3. Dankanych won her match over Cecily Wuenscher, 6-4, 6-1. Pomyatinskaya fell to Lauren Goodman, 6-2, 6-1. Smith lost to Rosie Cheng, 6-4, 6-3. Morales was defeated by Olivia Thaler, 6-2, 6-3. Bogicevic dropped her match against Natalia Perry in three sets, 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-2.
