IRVING, Tx. - Marshall University tight end Ryan Yurachek was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, the league announced Friday.

A John Mackey Award, Campbell Trophy and AFCA Good Works Team Watch Lister, the Myrtle Beach, S.C. native has caught a pass in 41 consecutive games, the nation's fourth-longest streak. He can tie Marshall's career record, held by Fuzzy Filliez (1973-76), with a reception in the Thundering Herd's bowl game. Yurachek is also tied for third nationally, this season, for touchdown receptions by tight ends (nine). In Marshall's career records, he ranks second in touchdown catches (25), third in receptions (136) and fourth in receiving yards (1,294).

The squad is comprised of student-athletes who earned a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, and serves as a starter or key reserve for their school. The roster is selected by a vote of the league's football media relations directors. Yurachek currently boasts a 3.52 GPA and will graduate this month with a degree in Marketing.
