Men's Golf Ready for C-USA Championship

TEXARKANA, Ark. - The Marshall men's golf team will tee off at the 2017 Conference USA Championship at Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, Ark., starting Sunday, April, 23, and potentially going to April 26. The course is a 6,696 yards and a par 72. This is the eighth time that Texarkana has played host to the C-USA Men's Golf Championship.
The Thundering Herd are fresh off a sixth place finish at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate. Sophomore Thomas Frazier had a career-best finish at fourth. Frazier finished with a 1-under 215.
Besides the Herd, the field includes Middle Tennessee, UTEP, North Texas, Charlotte, UAB, UTSA, Rice, Southern Miss, WKU, Louisiana Tech, Old Dominion and Florida Atlantic.
The championship consists of 54 holes of stroke play. Following the results of stroke play, the top four teams will advance to a seeded match play round to be held on Wednesday, April 26. The team champion after match play will receive C-USA's automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals. Conference USA became the first league to include match play, which reflects the NCAA format, when it introduced this structure for its tournament last season.
