Herd Earns Best Finish in C-USA Championship since 2013

Final Results
TEXARKANA, Ark. - The Marshall men's golf team had its best finish at the Conference USA Championship since 2013 thanks to a sixth-place finish on Monday, April 24, at the Texarkana Country Club. The Herd finished the tournament with a score of 36-over-par 900.
The last time Marshall finished in the top-six was in 2013, which finished the tournament fifth. The finish concluded the Herd's season, as it did not advance to match play in the C-USA Championship.
In the second round, junior Alex Weiss had the best score for the Herd with a 1-under 71. Weiss was the only member of the Marshall men's golf team to finish a round under par.
Senior Clark Robinson and sophomore Thomas Frazier had the best score for Marshall in the final round, as they each finished with a 1-over 73. Robinson finished the tournament in a tie for 12th, which allowed him to jump up eight spots.
The tournament concludes the career of Robinson and fellow seniors Will Evans and A.T. Cashwell.
ON THE LEADERBOARD
UTEP, North Texas, Charlotte, Southern Miss and Middle Tennessee all advanced to match play and compete in the final round of the tournament tomorrow, April 25. Seth Gandy of Charlotte defeated UAB's Taylor Eyster and North Texas' Cory Churchman by two strokes and finished with a 2-under 214 to win the individual championship.

"It was a good tournament overall for us. We are pretty disappointed we didn't make it to match play. It was pretty exciting coming down the stretch and we moved up and closed the gap, but just couldn't catch the last couple of teams. Alex played a great round this morning, while Clark and Thomas played great this afternoon. It was sad to see Will and Clark play their final round for us. They will be missed."
