HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall volleyball team will travel to Morehead, Ky., to take on the Morehead State Eagles on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m. inside Wetherby Gym.
HAVE YOU HERD?
The Thundering Herd began its season at the Austin Peay Tournament this past weekend. Marshall fell in five sets to No. 19 Missouri, while dropping its other two matches against Austin Peay and UMKC.
Sophomores Jac'cara Walker and Madison Hill led the Herd on offense with 35 and 32 kills, respectively. Senior Taylor Pelton added 25 kills and Madelyn Cole had 22 through the three-match tournament. Cole led Marshall with 78 assists. Sophomore Amber Weber had a team-high 41 digs.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Morehead State started its 2017 campaign by hosting the Eagle Challenge. The Eagles split the first day of action with a sweep over Delaware State and a three-set loss to Youngstown State. Morehead State bounced back on the final day with a five-set thrilling win over Winthrop.
Junior Jordan Jones led the Eagles on offense with 27 kills. Redshirt freshman Liz Allen and freshman Lauren Rokey followed with 23 kills each. Redshirt freshman Chandler Clark paced the team with 107 assists. Danielle led Morehead State on defense with 43 digs.

UP NEXT
The Thundering Herd will travel to the Spartan Invitational hosted by Michigan State from Sept. 1-2. Marshall opens the tournament against Michigan State on Friday at 7 p.m. MU finishes the tournament Saturday against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 11 a.m. and San Diego State at 4:30 p.m.
