HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall volleyball team heads to Athens, Ohio to face regional rival Ohio on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. inside the Convocation Center.
HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall (2-5) went even last week with a pair of wins against San Diego State and Morehead State, while dropping two matches against No. 23 Michigan State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. All four matches were completed in three sets.
Sophomore setter Madelyn Cole was named to the Spartan Invitational All-Tournament Team. The Dallas native combined for 69 assists, 25 digs, nine blocks and nine kills over three matches. Cole ranks eighth in Conference USA for 170 assists and ranks 10th for assists per set with 7.08.
Also ranking in the top 10 in Conference USA is sophomore Jac'cara Walker and freshmen Addisyn Rowe and Jessa Long. Walker ranks second for kills per set (4.19) and eighth for aces per set (0.33). Rowe is 10th for blocks per set (1.0), while Long is seventh for digs per set (3.58).
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Ohio (4-3) opened its season by winning its first three matches, but has since only won one of its last four matches. Ohio hosted the Bobcat Invitational this past weekend. The Bobcats dropped a match in three sets to Georgia and a five set match to High Point. Ohio's lone win came against Big 12 opponent Oklahoma in five sets.
Sophomore outside hitter Lizzie Stephens leads Ohio on offense with 95 kills (3.39 k/s). She is followed by freshman middle blocker Tia Jimerson with 85 kills (3.04 k/s). Freshman libero Macy Reihing holds a team-high 95 digs (3.39 d/s).

UP NEXT
The Thundering Herd opens its home schedule by hosting the Thunder Invite from Sept. 8-9. Marshall begins the tournament on Friday against Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. MU returns to the court on Saturday against Toledo at 1 p.m. and Maryland at 7 p.m.
