HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall volleyball team returns to the Cam Henderson Center Sunday afternoon for a Conference USA match against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. First serve is set for 1 p.m.

The Thundering Herd enters the match with an overall record of 9-12 and 2-5 in conference. The Blue Raiders come in at 5-14 and 0-6 in conference play.

Marshall is coming off a tough five-set loss at Rice on Friday. The Owls managed to come back after trailing 2-0, and held on to remain undefeated in conference. Redshirt sophomore Ciara Debell added to her team lead with 28 more kills to bring her season total up to 330. Senior Lauren Mattmuller is now second with 142 kills while senior Shelby Conley is right behind with 138.

Freshman setter Gabrielle Coulter recorded a career-high 57 assists in the loss to Rice. She now has 727 assists to begin her career with the Green & White. Junior Amber Weber leads the team with 422 digs and is averaging 5.28 digs per set.

Middle Tennessee is still looking for its first conference win and has dropped the last three. The Blue Raiders fell in a sweep at Charlotte on Friday. Bailey Mason leads the team with 183 kills while Dora Peonia is second with 140. Middle Tennessee has gone with two setters this season as Sarah Sumida leads with 348 assists and Taylor Hammill trails with 335. Brienna Tankesley leads the squad with 262 digs.

Following the match with Middle Tennessee, the Herd stays home for one more match against UTSA on Oct. 21, before hitting the road at Southern Miss (Oct. 26) and North Texas (Oct. 28).
