HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall running back Tyler King has been named Conference USA Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
King had another career day in Marshall's 42-20 win over Old Dominion. He amassed 195 rushing yards on 22 carries (165 in the fourth quarter) with two touchdowns, the latter coming on scoring runs of 65 and 46 yards in the final stanza to clinch the victory. King's rushing total is the most by a Marshall player since Steward Butler's 233 against WKU in 2014 and was the second-highest total nationally this weekend.
He has 360 rushing yards in two October games, which ranks fourth in the FBS. King is averaging 7.35 yards per carry this month and ranks third nationally in fourth quarter rushing yardage this season with 242. He is No. 38 nationally in rushing yards per game (88.3) and has the third-fewest carries (87) of anyone in college football with at least 500 rushing yards.
The Thundering Herd (4-2, 2-1 Conference USA) will be back in action Saturday when Florida Atlantic (3-3, 1-1) visits for a 2:30 p.m. ET Homecoming kick at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. The contest will also be carried on Facebook.
