HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall Thundering Herd men's basketball team is set to host Hofstra Sunday (Nov. 11) at the Cam Henderson Center. The Herd will unveil two banners as part of the pregame ceremony to commemorate the Herd's 2017-18 season.

HAVE YOU HERD
Marshall defeated Eastern Kentucky on the road, 105-77, on Wednesday (Nov. 7). The 28-point margin was the second-largest in a road-opening victory for the Herd since 1950.

Senior guard C.J. Burks led the way with 30 points on a 12 of 15 shooting night from the field. It was Burks fourth game of 30 or more points in his career.

Senior guard Jon Elmore added 20 points, a game-high six assists and rejected a career-high three shots, while making nine free-throws. Elmore is now the all-time leader in program history in makes from the charity stripe (527) and has reached double-figure points in 72 consecutive games.

Freshman guard Taevion Kinsey and sophomore forward Jannson Williams were the other two Marshall players to score more than 10 points with 14 and 11, respectively.

SCOUTING THE PRIDE
Hofstra is coming off a season-opening victory over Mount St. Mary's at home, 79-61. The Pride went 45.3 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from beyond the arc. Hofstra outrebounded Mount St. Mary's 41-32 in the contest. The Pride turned the ball over just eight times.

WHO TO KNOW
Justin Wright-Foreman averaged 24.4 points per game last season, fifth-best in the nation. Wright-Foreman was also the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year for the 2017-18 season. The senior guard scored 20 points in the Pride's 2018-19 opener.

Eli Pemberton comes into 2018-19 as Hofstra's second-leading returning scorer with 15.9 points per contest last season. The junior guard collected 18 points and made a team-leading three shots from three-point range against Mount St. Mary's.
