The Thundering Herd comes in with a record of 5-6 and the Tigers enter at 5-5. It is the third-straight game for Marshall against a team nicknamed the Tigers; Tennessee State, Clemson and now Towson.

The game will be broadcast live on HerdVision on CUSAtv as Jake Griffith will have the call. The game will also be broadcast on 88.1 WMUL-FM and with audio streamed online at www.marshall.edu/wmul through one of the Listen Live links.

Last time out - at Clemson Dec. 18 - L, 68-54
The Herd battled and held it close in a game that featured nine lead changes and seven ties, but ultimately could not hang on in the end at Clemson. The Tigers grabbed the lead for the final time with 7:23 remaining in the contest. Senior Shayna Gore led all scorers with 24 points playing all 40 minutes. Redshirt senior Taylor Porter added 12 points but only played 21 minutes due to early foul trouble. Redshirt junior Khadaijia Brooks scored eight points and led the Herd with nine rebounds. Marshall held Clemson to 38 rebounds and finished with 37. The Tigers had been averaging over 43 boards per contest as well as a plus-6.5 rebounding advantage. Turnovers hurt the Herd in the end, finishing with 25.

Thieves on the Floor
Marshall has ripped off 108 steals and leads Conference USA with 9.82 thefts per game. 54 percent (108-of-200) of the opposition's turnovers have come from a steal. Shayna Gore leads the team with 20 steals and has recorded at least one in 9-of-11 games. Kristen Mayo is next with 18 steals. Kia Sivils is right behind with 17 and nabbed five at Appalachian State. It marked back-to-back games that Marshall featured a player with five steals in a game as Taylor Porter had five against Bluefield State. Gore (7th - 1.8) and Mayo (9th - 1.6) both rank in the top 10 in C-USA in steals per game. Add in Sivils (11th - 1.5) Porter (14th - 1.5) and Marshall has more players in the top-15 than any other team in conference.

SWAT Party
Marshall leads Conference USA in blocked shots per game, averaging 5.0 rejections and 55 overall. UTSA is second with 3.6 per game. The Herd blocked at least seven shots in three-straight games (Dec. 1-8) and has recorded at least two blocked shots in each game this season. Marshall's string of at least two blocked shots is 13-straight games going back to last season. The last time Marshall did not record at least two blocks was Feb. 22, 2018 at Rice.

Scouting the Tigers
Towson comes to town after falling 90-43 at WVU on Thursday. The Tigers had won back-to-back games over Loyola (Md.) and Saint Joseph's. Towson is 5-5 and looking to improve in head coach Diane Richardson's second season. The Tigers enter the game shooting 37.7 percent from the field and 27 percent from three-point range.
