Weiss Shines Again in Second Round of Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Senior golfer Alex Weiss continued to lead the Marshall Thundering Herd's men's golf team with five birdies and with an overall score of 3-under 141 after two rounds at the Furman Intercollegiate.
Weiss began his day making birdies on three of his first four holes, while he finished with the day with a 2-under 70. The senior is excelling on par 4s and 5s, as he is currently 3-under on both. His 3-under on par 4s leads the field.
Overall, the Herd is in 13th place after shooting 20-over 596 through 36 holes, while it had an eight-stroke improvement with a 6-over 294 shot in the second round. Finishing behind Weiss were Will Straub, who had a 1-over 73 to give him an overall score of 5-over-par 149 and a tie for 48th place, and Ben Roeder, who shot a 2-over 74 in round two, which bumped him up to a tie for 71st place with an overall score of 8-over 152.
Among the individuals, North Florida's Phillip Knowles leads James Madison's Shota Ozaki and Furman's Matt Lehman by two strokes and with a score of 7-under 137. No. 28 North Florida leads West Virginia by 10 strokes and an overall score of 13-under 563
