West Finishes Season at NCAA East Preliminary Championships

TAMPA, Fla.-Sophomore Denisha West concluded Marshall Athletics competition for the 2017-18 academic year Saturday after competing in the triple jump at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary Championships.

West finished 43rd in the region with a top jump of 11.94 meters (39 feet, 2.25 inches). The sophomore hit her top mark on her second attempt. Her first attempt was 11.71 meters (38 feet, 5 inches) and her third attempt was marked at 11.07 meters (36 feet, 4 inches).

The top-12 in each event qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon in early June.

The 2017-18 season for Marshall track and field finishes with a total of five All-Conference USA members, 12 broken school records, 10 Conference USA Academic Medal Recipients, and 25 Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll members.
