Marshall Volleyball Names 2018 Captains

Thundering Herd to start season today
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. –Marshall head volleyball coach Mitch Jacobs announced his captains for the 2018 season on Thursday.

Senior Shelby Conley (Paintsville, Ky.) will serve as the squad's captain, while senior Lauren Mattmuller and senior Jayden Jacobs are the assistant captains. Junior Amber Weber will be the floor captain, the only individual authorized to address the head referee during matches. The Ocala, Fla. native is just the third libero (Allie Kellerman, Maggie Arias) in Jacobs' tenure to earn that distinction.

The Thundering Herd will open its 2018 slate at Dayton Friday evening at 7 p.m. in a contest that will be carried on ESPN+.
