Marshall’s Warren to Play in PGA Championship

Thundering Herd alum qualifies for one of golf’s four majors
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Marshall alum Shawn Warren will be in the field today when the 100th PGA Championship tees off from Bellerive Country Club (par-70) in St. Louis.
The 2007 Thundering Herd graduate was a four-year captain and won the Maine Open in 2004 and Maine Amateur in 2006. He turned pro shortly after his college career and was named the PGA New England Player of the Year three times (2013, 2014, 2015).
The Portland, Maine resident qualified for the tournament in June by sinking at 14-foot putt on the first playoff hole at the PGA Professionals championship in Seaside, California.
Warren, who is a teaching pro at Falmouth Country Club, tees off at 10:02 a.m. ET Thursday and 3:27 p.m. Friday. A live scoreboard of the event may be found here: https://www.pga.com/events/pgachampionship/leaderboard.
