ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Marshall men's soccer team is on the road for the final contest of the six-match road swing, to take on the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. Kickoff is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m.
 
The Thundering Herd enters the match at 10-2-3 overall. The Golden Grizzlies are 7-6-2.
 
Match Details
Live Stats: SIDEARM
Series History: 5th all-time meeting, the series is tied 2-2.
Last Meeting: August 27, 2018 in Huntington – Oakland won 3-2.
 
The Herd is coming off just its second loss of the season and first in Conference USA after dropping a 1-0 decision in overtime at Florida Atlantic on Saturday. The Owls converted a penalty kick in the third minute of overtime for the win.
 
Marshall is still outscoring its opponents this season by a wide margin of 37-13. Redshirt freshman Milo Yosef leads the team and C-USA in goals (10) and points (22). Junior Jamil Roberts leads the Herd and the conference in assists with nine and is tied for fourth in the country, to go along with four goals for a total of 17 points. Junior Pedro Dolabella is second on the team in goals with six and third in points with 16.
 
Redshirt senior keeper Paulo Pita has played every minute of all 15 matches this season. Pita has a 0.83 goals against average which is good for third in conference and 25th in the NCAA. His .772 save percentage is also third in the league and 42nd in the country.
 
Opponent
The Golden Grizzlies are coming off a 1-0 win at home over Michigan State, this past Tuesday Oct. 22. Keeper Liam McQueenie was named Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week with his two saves in the shutout win.
 
Oakland has outscored the opposition this season 27-20. Eleven different players have scored for the Golden Grizzlies with Charlie Braithwaite leading the way with five. Dylan Borczak leads the team in points with 16 with four goals and eight assists. The Golden Grizzlies have outshot the competition 205-161 and 87-74 on goal.
 
McQueenie has appeared in net for Oakland in three matches this season, all coming within the last five, against Western Michigan, Dayton and Michigan State. He is 1-1 as he finished the second half against Western Michigan. Sullivan Lauderdale, who was net in the match against Marshall in 2018, has played the other 13 matches and has a 6-5-2 record. McQueenie has a 1.20 goals against average while Lauderdale has a 1.30.
 
Up Next
Following the match at Oakland, Marshall finally returns to Hoops Family Field for the first time since Oct. 5. The Herd takes on No. 16 Kentucky on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m., on Senior Day. Marshall will finish the regular season on the road down at No. 11 FIU on Friday, Nov. 8.
