HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall men's soccer team is set for another home match as the UAB Blazers come to Hoops Family Field, Saturday at 7 p.m. The Herd is receiving votes again in the latest NCAA/United Soccer Coaches Poll released on Tuesday, and sitting at No. 26 overall.
 
The Thundering Herd enters the match at 7-1-1 overall and 2-0 in Conference USA. The Blazers come in at 1-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in league play.

Last Meeting: September 22, 2018 in Birmingham – The teams played to a 1-1 draw.
 
Marshall has won three-straight including a 2-0 victory over Dayton the last time out on Tuesday. Freshman Max Schneider scored the first goal with a header off a free kick by senior Jonas Westmeyer. Dayton unfortunately added the Herd's second score with an own goal in the 74th minute. Redshirt senior Paulo Pita recorded six saves in the shutout.
 
The Herd has outscored the opposition 19-8 this season with a well-rounded offense as 10 different players have scored at least one goal, with five scoring two or more. Freshman Milo Yosef leads the team with five goals and has three game-winners. Junior Pedro Dolabella is second with three goals and also has two assists. Junior Jamil Roberts has two goals and leads the Herd with five assists. Schneider has two goals this year and three assists. Westmeyer has three assists and one goal.
 
Pita is the only player for the Herd who has played every minute (830) this year and has three shutouts. His goals against average of 0.87 is third in conference and he leads the league with a .789 save percentage. Pita has all seven wins for the Herd and now 14 in his Marshall career.
 
Opponent
UAB has dropped its last three matches and has not had a win since Sept. 8 against Milwaukee. In conference action the Blazers played to a draw against Old Dominion and then lost to No. 9 Charlotte and No. 13 FIU. The Blazers have been outscored 17-8, outshot 115-88 and trail in shots on goal 55-36.
 
Blake White has scored half of the teams goals this year with four and has had 12 of his 20 shots on goal. Grayson Dupont has scored twice and has one assist. Joseph Buete and Chandler Shirley have one goal each.
 
Seth Torman started the year in goal and played the first five matches. He allowed nine goals, recorded 20 saves and had a 1-3-1 record. Julian Mehl has played the last three, allowed eight goals and has made 18 saves.
 
Up Next
The Herd heads out on the road for six-straight road matches. The first is a conference contest at No. 9 Charlotte on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
