Bendziewicz wins 200 Freestyle

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Herd swimming and diving closed out day one of the West Virginia Games in Morgantown on Friday evening.

"As a group, we had a lot of missed opportunities within our races and on our boards," Marshall head coach Ian Walsh said at the conclusion of action on day one. "With that being said, many of us were better from a time and score perspective than earlier in the month."

Catherine Bendziewicz took the 200-yard freestyle.

MU also had Angelica Di Marzio finish third in the 1,000-yard freestyle, Jordyn O'Dell and Heather Sigmon took second and third in the 100-yard backstroke, respectively. Bendziewicz captured third in the 100 yard breaststroke.

Nicole Rueff finished third in the 200-yard butterfly. In the 50-yard freestyle, Darby Coles took second overall.

"I know tomorrow we will be sharper and make some adjustments for the next session. We look forward to having a great second day," Walsh said.
