Marshall to Host Howard in Final MABC Invitational Contest

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall men's basketball looks to get back in the win column when it plays host to Howard on Thursday night at the Cam Henderson Center. This the last game for the Herd as part of the Men Against Breast Cancer Invitational.

Thursday night will also be #PurpleForPeyton night in the memory of Mikel Beyers stepbrother Peyton, who tragically passed away this past Friday.

Marshall fell to the College of Charleston on Tuesday 76-66.

The Herd had a quartet of players with 10 or more points led by Taevion Kinsey, who had 13. Jarrod West contributed 12, while Mikel Beyers and Jannson Williams each had 11.

Williams rejected a season-best six shots.
Â
MU dominated second-chance points outscoring the Cougars 22-2 and won the rebound battle 43-37.

SCOUTING HOWARD
The Bison are 0-5 this season and are led by Kenneth Blakeney, who is in his first year as the head coach of the program.

Howard has three common opponents to this point in the season as Marshall, as it fell to Notre Dame (79-50), Robert Morris (85-65) and Toledo (112-68).

Charles Williams leads the Bison with 18.8 points per contest and has made 45.5 percent of his shots this season, including 37.5 percent of his three-point attempts.

Zion Cousins has brought down 5.6 rebounds per game, while being tied for the team lead in blocks with two. Ian Lee has dished out a team-best 12 assists.
