Marshall fell in a tightly contested matchup against then ranked No. 24 Florida Gators, 73-67.

Redshirt junior Jannson Williams led all players with 17 points.

Sophomore Taevion Kinsey has scored at least 10 points in all six games.

Kinsey leads the Herd in points per game (14.8), rebounds per game (6.2) and assists (32).

Williams is tied for 17th in the country in blocked shots per game (2.67) while junior guard Jarrod West sits in a tie for 28th in steals per game with 2.5.

Marshall is second in the nation blocked shots per game with 7.8, while sitting in 11th in total blocks with 47.

SCOUTING AKRON
The Zips sit at 5-2 this season with head coach John Groce at the helm in his third season.

Tyler Cheese leads Akron in scoring with 16.6 points per game despite coming off the bench in six of their seven contests.

Xeyrius Williams is nearly averaging a double-double for the Zips with 13.1 points per game, third on the team, and his team leading 9.9 rebounds per contest. Williams also has a team-best 16 blocks.

Loren Cristian Jackson is averaging 14.7 points per game, second on Akron, and has a team-high 30 assists this season.
