Men’s Golf Finishes Second Round at the Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Marshall men's golf team completed the second round Saturday evening at the Furman Intercollegiate.
"It was a really good day on the course," Herd head coach Matt Grobe said. "The weather and the course were great. Kyle (Mitchell) and Thomas (Frazier) played great today. We are looking forward to another great day tomorrow."
Marshall sits in 15th place after the first two rounds despite improving by one stroke in the team score. Redshirt senior Thomas Frazier moved up 27 places on the leaderboard with a five-stroke improvement from the first round. Frazier shot an even-par 71. Freshman Kyle Mitchell, playing as an individual moved up to a tie for 18th scoring a 1-under 70 in the second round, four shots better than the first round.
Coastal Carolina leads the team competition with a 7-under team score of 561. The Chanticleers lead Davidson by six strokes.
Wes Artac of Coastal Carolina is still tied at the top of the leaderboard with a 9-under 133. Keller Harper jumped into the tie at the top after scoring an 8-under 63 in the second round.
Marshall tees off in round three at 9 a.m.
