HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Marshall women's tennis team closes its 2019 regular season Sunday when it travels to take on the Old Dominion Monarchs in a Conference USA match at 11 a.m.

Marshall lost its last match to Liberty, 4-3, but showed resilience in the process, winning each of the final three singles matches.

Anna Smith surpassed her win total from a season ago with her 12th singles win of the spring season against Liberty. Smith has led Marshall in singles and doubles wins in each of her two seasons.

Marshall has five different players with at least eight singles wins this spring. Smith leads the team with 12, Madi Ballow has 11 wins and is 7-1 in her last eight matches, and the trio of Daniela Dankanych, Liz Stefancic and Victoria Walter have eight wins apiece.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: OLD DOMINION
Old Dominion is the first ranked opponent that Marshall will face this season. The Monarchs are the highest-ranked team in Conference USA at 32nd in the nation. ODU enters the weekend with a 15-3 record and will play William & Mary Saturday afternoon prior to facing the Herd.

ODU is a perfect 10-0 at home this season.

The Monarchs have four different players with at least 10 singles wins this spring in Holly Hutchinson, Brooke Pilkington, Yulia Starodubsteva and Alesya Yakubovich.
