Marshall Volleyball Set to Welcome Three Newcomers

Trio headed to Huntington
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall head volleyball coach Ari Aganus announced Tuesday that Sydney Lostumo, Megan Taylor and Meagan Camden will join the program this fall.

Lostumo, a 5'11" setter from Gilbert, Arizona, played for Hamilton High School and was a member of the Under Armour All-American Watch List entering her senior season. She was named to Prep Volleyball's "Freshman 59" and to the Senior Aces Top 150. As a senior, she led the Huskies to a 35-8 record and a #3 ranking in the state of Arizona by MaxPreps.com. She was named to the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) All-Division Second Team and honorable mention all-district and was a four-year co-captain of the Aspire Volleyball Club, helping the team win four Arizona Region Championships. As a member of the 16s team, she helped lead the club to three national qualifier wins in the open division and a #1 national ranking by Prep Volleyball.

Taylor, 6'0 outside hitter from Paintsville, Kentucky, played at Paintsville High School for four seasons and led the Tigers to seven district titles and two regional championships. She was a two-time 15th Region Player of the Year, All-Area Player of the Year, Regional Tournament MVP and was a first-team all-state pick as a senior. She also helped lead the River Cities Thunder Volleyball Club to the 2018 18s American Division national title and was named to the all-tournament team.

Camden, a 5'6" libero from Huntington, helped lead Spring Valley High School to the 2018 AAA state title. She helped lead the Wolves to two Mountain State Athletic Conference crowns, three sectional titles and a 2016 regional championship, as well. In 2019, she and Taylor qualified for the USA Volleyball national championships. Camden graduated with a 3.85 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society, among other activities.

"I am thrilled to welcome Sydney, Megan and Meagan to the Herd Family," said Aganus. "This recruiting class adds depth to our program and I cannot wait to get our newcomers mixed in with the returning athletes to add energy and competitiveness at our practices. I am looking forward to the way they can help our team culture and how they will represent Herd Volleyball, Marshall University and the entire Huntington community."

Marshall wraps up its 2019 spring slate at home tomorrow night against Eastern Kentucky. The start time is 6 p.m. inside the Cam Henderson Center.
