Women’s Golf Opens 2019 Fall Season at Golfweek Program Challenge

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – The Marshall women's golf team tees off for the 2019 season at the Golfweek Program Challenge, played at True Blue Golf Club, Sept. 9-10.

Marshall is one of 15 teams competing in the event. The first two rounds will be played on Monday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The third and final round is set for Tuesday. The course is a par-72 and 6,034 total yardage.
Playing in the tournament for the Herd will be senior Shelby Brauckmuller, juniors Stormy Randazzo and Kerri Parks, sophomore Jackie Schmidt and freshman Peyton Schaffer.
The other teams playing at the Golfweek Program Challenge are Delaware, Illinois-Chicago, UNC Wilmington, Jacksonville State, Stephen F. Austin, Florida Atlantic, Purdue Fort Wayne, Jacksonville, Stetson, Elon, Presbyterian, USC Upstate, Gardner-Webb and High Point.
Marshall had a strong outing throughout the 2018-19 season, playing its way into the GolfStat Top 100 rankings for the first time in program history. The Herd ranked as high as 81st on Oct. 16, 2018, and stayed in the Top 100 all the way through the end of the season. Brauckmuller was individually ranked in the GolfStat Top 250 players in the country. The now senior leader reached as high as 127th in the nation on Oct. 16, 2018.
