Volleyball Announces 2020 Summer Camp Slate

Herd to host five different camps beginning in June

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall volleyball head coach Ari Aganus announced five different volleyball camps coming up in the summer of 2020 on Thursday. The camps begin in June.
 
The list for the coming summer will be a Team Camp (June 15-17), Little Herd Camp (July 8-9), Elite Camp (July 10-12), All Skills Camp (July 10-12) and Positional Camp (July 13-14). For those interested, please click on the above link to visit the camps page for more information and registration.
 
The Team Camp is open to any age group. This camp's balance between team strategies and competition will prepare teams and coaches for the upcoming season. Team tactics will be highlighted along with team development, team chemistry, side out drills, and competing against other schools during each session with an all-camp tournament at the conclusion of the camp. There is a minimum of seven players per team and registration forms must be submitted as a team. Cost is $160 per camper who is a commuter with no meals included, and $275 per camper with housing provided and meals included.
 
The Little Herd Camp is open for ages 8-12. This camp is designed for beginner volleyball players who are looking to learn the basics of volleyball. All skills will be taught at this camp at the beginner volleyball level. Modifications will be made to allow campers to be successful and most importantly have fun! The Elite Camp is open to ages 14-18. This three-day camp is designed to give athletes an inside look into the practice setting of a college program. This camp features elite level drills and technical work. Each session will cover proper technique to fine tune skills and cover advanced level aspects of the game. The All Skills Camp is open to ages 9-18. This three-day comprehensive camp focuses on pushing each camper to take their game to the next level with each skill. Serving, passing, attacking, defense, blocking, and setting will be taught throughout the camp. Please visit the 2020 Summer Camps page by the link above as more information will be coming soon.
 
The Positional Camp is open to ages 10-18. This camp is designed to focus on the primary techniques of each position and skills. Athletes will receive a lot of repetitions of the skill by splitting into their position for each session. Choose between Setter, Hitter or Libero camp and you can choose up to two (2) positions. Coach Aganus just concluded her first season at the helm for the Herd as the team had an overall record of 18-10. Marshall had an 8-win improvement from the year before, finished fourth in Conference USA after being predicted to finish 10th, and was ranked in the top 10 in the NCAA in blocks per set for much of the season.
