HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall (3-0) women's tennis continues its road stand against Penn State (1-1) on Friday at University Park, PA and against Saint Francis (0-4) on Sunday in Loretto, PA. The first serve on both days is at 4:00 p.m.
HAVE YOU HERD?
The Herd started its season 3-0 last weekend against Wright State, Dayton and Toledo, in the first three dual matches of the year.

In the first two matches of the weekend, Anna Smith, Jutte Van Hansewyck and Madison Riley did not drop a set as each won both of their doubles and singles matches on the day. Marshall did not drop a single set to Dayton.

At Toledo, Marshall swept the doubles competition and won four of the singles sets.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: PENN STATE

Penn State sits 1-1 on the season picking up at win at Iowa State University but dropping a win at Kansas State University.
Â
Olivia Rohrbacher, Olivia Ryan and Samantha Smith all went undefeated at the dual against Iowa. Penn State lost to Kansas State 5-0.
SERIES HISTORY
Marshall leads the series 10-8 against Penn State. The last time these two teams faced off was Feb. 2019, where Penn State ended up victorious.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: SAINT FRANCIS

Much like the Herd, Saint Francis has spent the 2020 season thus far on the road. However, Saint Francis has dropped all four matches it has played in. The season started against Towson, then the team faced Navy and ended that weekend against Morgan State. Last weekend, the team dropped a match to Lehigh.

Senior's Laura Gutierrez and Lucia Seigford both won singles rounds in the match again Towson. Camryn Rossa made her debut this match and won in straight sets.

SERIES HISTORY
This is the first time Marshall and Saint Francis will meet.

COACHES THOUGHTSÂ
"I am excited for us to play a very good and experienced Penn State team," head coach John Mercer said. "We seem to always have close matches. Hopefully we will have another."

The Herd continues to play on the road facing Middle TN on Feb. 8 at 1:00 p.m. and Furman on Feb. 9 at 4:00 pm, but matches will be played in Greenville, SC..
