Marshall Achieves Highest-Ever College Football Playoff Ranking

Thundering Herd ranked 21st overall

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Football was ranked 21st in the first edition of the College Football Playoff rankings Tuesday evening, the highest-ever mark for the program.
 
The Thundering Herd's (7-0 overall, 4-0 Conference USA) previous high was 24th in the November 25, 2014 edition.
 
Marshall remains 17th in the Associated Press poll and 16th in the Amway/USA Today Coaches Poll. Those rankings were announced Sunday.
 
The Thundering Herd will be back in action Saturday, December 5 when Rice (1-2, 1-2) visits Joan C. Edwards Stadium at noon in a contest that will be carried by ESPN+. The Owls dropped a 27-17 decision at North Texas on Saturday.
