Marshall Tennis Wins Big on the Road

Marshall defeats Saint Francis on the road, 7-0
LORETTO, Pa. – Marshall's women's tennis team swept Saint Francis (0-7), 7-0 Sunday at the Ebensburg Tennis Center in Loretto, Pennsylvania.  With this win, Marshall moved to 4-1 on the season.

SINGLES:

In the singles competition, Daniela Dankanych recorded the first win of the day, 6-4,6-2. Next, Jutte Van Hansewyck came from behind and pulled off the victory, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.

Madi Ballow and Liz Stefancic posted wins as well. Ballow defeated Anouk Ma-Aiong, 6-4,6-2 and Stefancic defeated Romina Cutipa, 6-2, 6-2.Â

Madison Riley also won 6-3, 6-3. The Herd won No. 6 won by default.

DOUBLES:
Â
Stefancic and Dankanych pulled off the 6-2 win against Lucia Seigford and Laura Gutierrez. Riley and Van Hansewyck defeated Romina Cutipa and Anouk Ma-Aiong, 6-3. Finally, Kara Joseph and Ballow won 6-0 against Vivien Ruettgers and Camryn Rossa.

The Herd continues to play on the road, facing Middle Tennessee and Furman in Greenville, South Carolina up next. Marshall plays Middle Tennessee on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Furman on Sunday at 12 p.m.
