HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall (8-4) women's tennis is set to face Miami University (OH) (4-4) Sunday, March 1 at 11 a.m. for the second home match of the weekend.
HAVE YOU HERD?
Marshall defeated Winthrop on Friday, 4-3 giving the team its sixth loss of the season. Liz Stefancic and Jutte Van Hansewyck along with Madi Ballow and Madison Riley were successful in the double's rounds.
Daniela Dankanych, Jutte Van Hansewyck and Liz Stefancic all collected wins in the singles round.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: Miami (OH)
After losing to Xavier on Friday, Miami (OH) closed last weekend with a win against Western Kentucky.
The RedHawks took the early doubles point with Milana Lysova and Priyana Kalita collecting a win followed by Melati Devi and Makenzie Myers. Lysova, Laura Rico and Meyers sealed the deal for the RedHawks as they collected the 4-0 win.
SERIES HISTORY
Marshall leads the series 19-6, yet Miami won the last meeting 5-2 in 2018.
UP NEXT
Marshall women's tennis will face Akron and West Virginia State University on Saturday, March 7 in Huntington, W.Va. The Akron match will be played at 1 p.m. and the WVSU match will be played at 6 p.m.
